Can you provide an estimate over the phone without seeing the vehicle?

The best way to receive an accurate estimate, is for one of our estimators to see the vehicle in person.

Can you provide an estimate via e-mail if I provide photos of the damage on my vehcle?

Occasionally, we are able to give a rough estimate via e-mail, from photos of minor cosmetic damage. The estimate would be verified upon arrival at our facility.

How can I make sure my car is repaired at North Shore Auto Rebuilders?

IL law protects your ability to choose the repair shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot force or steer you to choose the shop they suggest.

Can I drop the car off after hours?

We are closed Saturday and Sunday. Special arrangements can be made by appointment only, for pick up or drop off after hours.

What do I do if I'm in an accident?

  1. Call 911 and verify that everyone is fine.
  2. Write down the name, phone number, insurance company and policy number of the other person involved in the crash.
  3. Photograph damage of both vehicles.
  4. Write down names and contact information of all witnesses present.
  5. When a police officer arrives, find out where to pick up the police report.
  6. Call us at (773) 743-4385 and we can begin making arrangements for your vehicle.
  7. Only allow a manufacturer approved towing company.

What are the steps of the repair process?

  1. Call your insurance company and explain the accident. They'll assign a claim number and representative.
  2. Depending on your insurance provider, an appointment to review your vehicle's damage will be scheduled at either our facility or your insurance drive-in collision assessment location.
  3. If you need a rental, we can either assist, or direct you to rental agencies in our area.
  4. Remember, the insurance company cannot steer you have the repairs performed at their shop of choice. It is your right to choose the shop you prefer to repair your vehicle.
  5. Your insurance company will send out an adjuster and we will discuss the need for any supplemental repairs.
  6. We will communicate the repair plan to you, and estimated repair time.
  7. We will then begin ordering parts and repairing your vehicle.
  8. Upon completion of repairs, your vehicle will be thoroughly inspected and if necessary, transported to the dealer for calibration and electronic initializations.
  9. The vehicle is ready for pick-up.

Can North Shore Auto Rebuilders assist me in obtaining a rental car?

We work closely with Enterprise and Enterprise Exotics to facilitate the rental car process. We will arrange pick up and delivery of your rental car.

How do I negotiate with my insurance company?

North Shore Auto Rebuilders works closely with all major insurance companies to ensure that your vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. We will negotiate and communicate with your insurance company to make the repair process as easy and worry free as possible.

How do I get an estimate of the damage?

What if North Shore Auto Rebuilders finds damage that the insurance adjuster did not?

If additional damage is found upon disassembly of the vehicle, we will work with your insurance company to obtain a supplement to cover the repairs.
