General FAQs

The best way to receive an accurate estimate is for one of our estimators to see the vehicle in person. However, our “Request an Estimate” section allows you to submit photos.

For less extensive damage, photos can be emailed or uploaded through our website’s “Request an Estimate” section for a preliminary estimate. The estimate will be verified once the vehicle arrives at our facility.

When filing an insurance claim, inform your insurance company that you have chosen North Shore Auto Rebuilders as your certified repair facility. The Illinois Right to Repair Act protects your right to select the repair shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot force or steer you toward a network or direct repair shop with which they are affiliated.

We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Special arrangements for after-hours pick-up or drop-off can be made by appointment only.

1. Call 911 and verify that everyone is fine.

2. Write down the name, phone number, insurance company, and policy number of the other person involved in the crash.

3. Photograph damage of both vehicles.

4. Write down names and contact information of all witnesses present.

5. Call us at (773) 743-4385 to begin making arrangements for the repair and/or transport of your vehicle.

6. Only allow a manufacturer approved towing company. Our preferred towing partner is North Shore Towing. You can call them at: (847) 864-2828

1. Call us to discuss the steps of filing with your insurance provider.

2. If you need a rental, we can facilitate the process. Our preferred partner is Go Rentals.

3. Remember, the insurance company cannot steer you to have the repairs performed at their shop of choice. It is your right to choose the shop you prefer to repair your vehicle.

4. We will assess the damage and communicate the repair plan to you and estimated repair time.

5. We will then begin ordering parts and repairing your vehicle.

6. Upon completion of repairs, your vehicle will be thoroughly inspected and, if necessary, transported to the dealer for calibration and electronic initializations.

7. The vehicle is ready for pickup.

Rental FAQs

Our preferred partner is Go Rentals.

We will arrange pickup and delivery of your rental car.

Estimate FAQs

North Shore Auto Rebuilders is a Porsche and Mercedes-Benz certified collision center. We will repair the vehicle to pre-accident condition using manufacturer guidelines. All documentation will be provided and communicated to your insurance carrier.

If additional damage is found upon disassembly of the vehicle, we will identify and document the damage to present to the insurance carrier handling the claim.
